One of them reads, “A woman has a close male friend. This means he is probably interested in her, which is why he hangs around so much.” Right, because no one want to be friends with a woman unless she’s having sex with them eventually, right? The status continues to compare a woman just wanting a friendship with a man to a job interview in which the potential employer says, “You have a great resume, you have all the qualifications we are looking for, but we’re not going to hire you. We will, however, use your resume as the basis for comparison for all other applicants. But we’re going to hire somebody who is far less qualified and is probably an alcoholic.” See? Super, super nice."

Are you shitting me right now? Do you even realize how internalized your sexism is?
I’m so fucking sick of these “jokes” about how women are all vain, catty, jealous bitches who hate each other. All they do is perpetuate sexist and misogynistic stereotypes that hold women down, and yes, even the women who laugh at them and say, “Totally! That’s why I’m only friends with men!”
Like seriously, why would you be okay with “jokes” that dehumanize you and uphold a social system that holds you down?
Women are NOT inherently like this. The world just tells us we are.
